Update
So we really are heading to Osaka this morning (by bullet train). It's a 3 hour ride I think. Please note that getting on a bullet train while these aftershocks are still continuing does not sound appealing in any way but we're feeling a little desperate. We're not sure where we'll be flying to from there (Andrew's company is working on it, they've been really wonderful)- they've just been given instructions to get us out of here- we'll go anywhere, just until things settle down a bit. There's really no available flights anywhere right now, as many people are starting to try to leave. We figure being in Osaka rather than Tokyo when the masses of people begin leaving will help. We'll be traveling with Andrew's American co-worker Jim, his wife Noelle and their two young kids (ages 2 and 3 months). Andrew's other remaining American co-worker Tom has a Japanese girlfriend now and he doesn't want to leave her or her mother. He's been staying with them outside of Tokyo. I think here will probably be the best place to keep people updated as to where we're ultimately headed but I'm not sure what our internet capabilities are going to be going forward. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers, as well as all of Japan!
