Hint, hint Mom and Dad?

Yesterday at the park Connor borrowed a toy baby stroller from a couple of cute blond twins that he had been chatting up (what is it about boys and twins?). He proceeded to push this stroller around the park for at least 40 minutes- a lifetime in Connor time.

I would say that he just likes to push stuff around (which he does) but every so often he would stop to check on the baby, talk to the baby, and kiss the baby! The other Moms in the park thought this was soooo cute.

Sorry little buddy, you're pretty convincing but not just yet!

Rain, rain go away.

Our wonderful weekend weather was short lived. Yesterday it absolutely poured all day and we didn't leave the apartment- I really hate days like that! At least it gave Connor and I a chance to catch up on our reading.

Weekend Recap

Another great weekend! A brief recap.
Friday night Andrew and I had a really fun night out for dinner (Mexican!) and drinks (margaritas!) with some friends.
Annie, Shannon and I:

Saturday was just gorgeous outside so we joined every other New Yorker in Central Park for a picnic and lounging on the Great Lawn, one of my favorite NYC activities. Connor brought his new ball and had a blast running around barefoot in the grass.

Afterwards we came home and spent the rest of the afternoon and evening out on our balcony. We expect to spend a lot of time out there now that the weather is getting nicer.
Connor and Andrew having some guy time:

My Mom and Gerry gave Andrew a set of binoculars for his birthday- GREAT gift!

Andrew took this one after the sun went down.

Sunday morning I ran another race in Central Park. It was another super nice day outside. This time I came in a minute and a half faster than two weeks ago- a new personal record!
Andrew took these of Connor on his stroller while they were waiting for me to finish. Connor now likes to pull himself up and into the stroller and then strap himself in. This is what he does if we're at home and he decides its time for us to go out. Too funny.

Post race hug from my little man.

Here comes the sun...

It's 72 and sunny today and Connor is wearing his first official short sleeved shirt of the season! Hip hip hooray!

Staring out the window, munching on crackers.

Happy Friday!

Central Park with the Eichs

We had a great visit with Andrew's parents who were in town this past weekend. Here's a few pictures we took during a stop in Central Park. It was an absolutely gorgeous day (of which there haven't been too many of this spring)!

Connor enjoyed some rock climbing.

Checking out whats going on in the Central Park Zoo.

Loving those animals!

A nice little Sunday

One of the things I was most looking forward to about moving back to the US (besides everything else) was to be able to rejoin the New York Road Runners club and start running races in Central Park again! This past Sunday was my first- a 4 mile run. My goal was to beat my best pre-Connor race time. I missed it by a minute but I didn't mind too much when I saw Connor waiting for me at the finish line. Gives me something to work towards next time. Afterwards there was lots of food and music. Connor busted a move near the stage and drew a bit of a crowd- the kid sure does love to dance!

Andrew took this while they were waiting for me.

Post race. It was a really sunny day.

We went home and showered and then met up with our friend Alexa (in town from Chicago) for a great brunch.

Afterwards we hit the playground, Bed Bath and Beyond, and a visit with Annie and John. Busy day! This Saturday I'm running a 10K with Dana- although there my goal is just to finish. Fingers crossed!

Little Helper

I'm a bit of a neat freak. Since Connor likes to copy so much of what I do, its no surprise that he's extremely helpful around the house. He loves to push the vacuum and one of his favorite "toys" is a duster- he loves to dust the shelves! He really does help me in so many ways- handing me the pillows when I make the bed, putting away toys, carrying small boxes when we take out the trash, throwing away his dirty diapers (he particularly loves this task and claps for himself after he tosses them in the trash can).

His current obsession is with the dishwasher. Don't worry- I'm always monitoring him. The first thing we do each morning is empty the dishwasher together from the night before so that there are no knives or forks or other dangerous objects for him to get a hold of. He hands me each piece of silverware for me to put away and is so proud of being able to help. Occasionally he'll stop to clap for himself. So yesterday he kept going back and forth between the kitchen and the living room and I knew he was on another one of his "missions." When I went in to see what was going on this is what I found. Guess he thought some of his favorite items around the house could use a good cleaning! I especially got a kick out how he was in the process of loading his books like plates.

I freaking love this kid!
