Waiting Patiently
Girls Visit
This past weekend Jessica and Stacy drove up from Maryland for a visit. It was so nice to have the extra company while Andrew is away and I think Connor really liked having new friends to play with!
The gang in Central Park on Saturday.

Afterwards we had lunch outside, always great for some people watching.

Stacy broke her sunglasses but Connor wanted to wear them anyway.

Connor hanging with Puppy and Aunt Stacy before bedtime.

I got a babysitter for Saturday night so I could show the ladies a proper night out on the town. I so love a night out with the girls!

Thanks so much for making the trip!!

Andrew and Carter
We're half way through Andrew's trip to Tokyo and I'm happy to say we're doing well. One thing Andrew was looking forward to about his stay in Tokyo was the chance to visit with Melanie, Jason and Carter (Connor's original BFF!). He went over to their place for an early dinner on Sat. night so that he could hang with Carter a bit before his bedtime. Melanie sent me these pics which I thought were awfully cute. It's been tough for Andrew to be away from Connor for so long so I think it was fun for him to see Carter in action for a few hours. I wish that Connor and I could have been there too!

Beautiful Day at the Park
Not surprising- but Connor already has a couple of girlfriends here in NYC. It was a beautiful morning so we met up with them and their moms at the park.
Here he is in the sandbox with Hayley, who he most definitely has a crush on. He loves to give her lots of hugs and kisses! She is a sweet little girl too- Mom approves!

I love this picture. I was trying to capture him hugging his other new gal pal Claire but I caught the proud aftermath instead. He was totally blushing!

Connor dug the great views of the East river and 59th St. bridge.

Connor spots a taxi. Have I mentioned his love of taxis? Since we see so many of them here in NYC he will often have one arm up in the air for much of our walks.

Occasionally he gets confused. He once tried to hail a yellow school bus and another time (very embarrassingly) an overweight man wearing a yellow jacket. Oh well!

Happy Birthday Andrew!
Yesterday was Andrew's birthday! We had a really fun weekend. Saturday night we went out to dinner at one of our favorite neighborhood wine bars. Sunday morning we had a big "birthday breakfast" complete with cupcakes. In my opinion there's nothing better than cupcakes at breakfast time :)
Dinner Saturday night:

Sadly, Andrew had to leave for Tokyo just after breakfast. Unfortunately while his plane was in the air there was a plane crash at the airport that he was to fly into, closing the runways. He was rerouted to Sapporo where he's currently waiting to connect to Haneda airport (also in Tokyo). This has made a really long day of traveling a whole lot longer. I'm just waiting to hear that he's arrived safely at his hotel. I don't like when he travels!
Miss you already Daddy! Come home soon!!

Update: Andrew has finally arrived in Tokyo and went straight to a bar to meet one of his coworkers for a much needed drink!

Weekend with the Schirners
We had a great visit with Matt and Jessica. Connor was so excited to have some new pals to play with! Here's the 3 amigos chilling on the couch.

On Saturday night we went to the Big East championship game at MSG (Louisville won). Andrew's company has a box at MSG and this was the game that Andrew was able to get tickets for (free too!). We invited a bunch of friends to join us and it was so so so much fun.
Me, Annie, Tracey and Shann.

Matt, Jessica and Rob.

Cheers Andrew!

Afterwards everyone went out to sing karaoke, sadly- no pics of that to share!

Central Park Zoo
This afternoon Connor and I visited the Central Park zoo. He got to see all sorts of fun animals but I think his favorite part was the kids petting zoo. There he got to see all his faves and was able to feed a few of them too. Since it was a week day it wasn't very crowded so Connor got to walk most of the zoo on foot (he was a big fan of this).
Pointing out a couple of sea lions getting fed.

Polar Bears!

LOVED the goats.

Pretending to hatch.

TGIF!

Our friends Matt and Jessica Schirner are in town visiting so its sure to be a great weekend. We have some fun things planned for their visit.
To kick off the weekend, here's a picture of Connor literally dancing on the ceiling to one of our favorite songs, "Dancing on the Ceiling" by the Commodores. Whenever this song comes on Connor immediately starts to bust a move. Coincidentally- this CD was a gift we got a couple of years ago from the Schirners!
Happy Friday!

Texas
This past weekend we flew to Texas to visit the Jensens, our good friends from Tokyo that now live just outside of Dallas. We had a blast catching up with them, seeing their new awesome house, playing in the backyard, grilling out, and overall just enjoying what it is that people do in the suburbs! It was 85 degrees outside when we got in on Thursday which was such a nice break from the harsh cold we've been dealing with here in NYC lately. Unfortunately those kind of temps were short lived but we enjoyed it while it lasted. One of our favorite things was just to watch the kids play together. It's been almost 4 months since Connor had seen his old pal Kate but they were still two peas in a pod. They would giggle, chase each other around, "talk" to each other, feed each other, pass toys back and forth, etc. They even held hands in the backseat of the car when both were strapped into their carseats. Too much! Kate is a big pointer and loves to talk so it often looked like she was bossing Connor around. Typical woman.
Obviously, I took a ton of pics of the kids (and somehow none of us adults)- here's a few of my faves...
7:00am business meeting to go over the agenda for the day.

Connor didn't look that happy to share my lap.

Connor and I out for a nice suburban stroll.

Me and my boy.

Connor I told you that was my laptop!

Seriously, back off of it!

Just kidding, we can share.

We're cool right?

Bath time!

Connor stop messing with the temperature!

Shooting hoops in the tub.

Trish and Seph were unbelievably gracious hosts, they made us feel so at home. It was just a really, really fun and relaxing weekend and we can't wait to go back (although they've promised to come out here first)!
