Boo at the Bronx Zoo

After a wonderful Friday and Saturday with the Smiths (pictures to come), on Sunday we took Connor to "Boo at the Zoo." Basically, all the kids come to the zoo in costume! I have been scanning the weather reports for the past several weeks waiting for a sunny weekend day, finally we got one! And it was most definitely a perfect fall day. Connor loved his costume (not surprising, he's sooooo into all things related to firetrucks!) I ordered it a couple sizes too big so that he can get plenty of pretend play out of it in the future. His little pants are rolled up :)

He had just jumped down off the bench. He really loves jumping!

He really liked the sea lions.

Another future Terp shot!

The petting zoo is always one of his fave stops...

No spider is going to scare my tough guy!

The giraffes were my favorite animal of the day. They are just so tall and peaceful and majestic. Connor's favorite animal was the hyenas. He got a real kick out of watching them sprinting around chasing each other like wild maniacs. Coincidence? I think not.

His pants even had suspenders! A true little fireman :)

One year later...

Same sweater, same handsome boy, one year later!

Speaking of a year... today Melanie and Jason, our friends from Tokyo that recently moved back to Orlando, are coming to visit! They were headed up north to visit Jason's family and tacked on a couple nights in NYC to visit with us. We are SO excited to see them, its been almost a year to the day!! I just can't wait to see Connor and Carter together again and to meet their new (4 month old) baby Emmy!!

There's a new Eich in town!!

As of this morning Connor has a brand new cousin! I have been waiting on the edge of my seat for this news, since I knew it would be any day now!

Vivian Grace Eich was born this morning at 6:14 am. She is 20 inches and 8lbs. She joins big sisters Natalie (3.5) and Noelle (22 months). We can't wait to meet the little munchkin at Thanksgiving and to see all of the cousins running around together!!

Oldest sis Natalie and baby Vivian:

Congrats to Rob, Kate, Natalie and Noelle! We love you guys so much!

More from our visit to Nana's...

Still have some cute pics from our trip to Michigan to share. Connor just adores spending time with his Nana, and its always fun for all of us to hang out in the 'burbs for a bit. It's all about the little things...

Praise the Lord- I love the burbs!

Swinging with Dad.

Love the rocks in Nana's yard! Side note- doesn't he look like a little snowboarder in the making? All he needs is a board and he'll be good to go...

Picking flowers for his Mama! Gotta start them young, his future wife will thank me someday...

Drawing with chalk in the driveway.

Going for a "nature" walk with Nana. Love their matching blue fleeces! Thanks Nana!

Playing ball in the street. Got it Dad!

WE LOVE TARGET! Just look at those wide aisles. That's something you don't find in the city! Not surprising, Connor just wanted to push the cart.

Post-Target stop at Chili's. Big booths, big servings of chips and guac and even bigger margaritas.

Love the burbs!

Little Drummer Boy

You know that song Jai Ho from the movie Slumdog Millionaire? Connor is really into it. Sometimes he dances to it, other times he just goes into this trance like state when it comes on. He also really loves to play his drum and march around to the beat. He wants us to play it constantly. As it gets close to the end of the song the music starts to slow down which is when he starts to say (somewhat frantically) "again! again!" Born in Tokyo, now living in NYC, and a big fan of Bollywood- quite the cultural kid we have here.

Meeting Maeve!

On Saturday we took the train out to Long Island to see Tracey and Jason and to finally meet Maeve! Connor was so excited to ride the train (which he refers to as the "choo choo"). It was one of the highlights of his day.

Passing the time...

Tracey and Maeve. How amazing does T look for having had a baby only a month ago?

Maeve was too precious for words. Just as sweet as can be! Love her hair!

Andrew meeting his future daughter in law for the first time. He's clearly already a big fan.

Connor took a quick peek at the baby but didn't really care too much. He was much more excited to see the dogs, who he LOVES. He just giggles so much running around with them! He also loved to roll around with them on the floor. Sometimes I feel like I'm raising a puppy myself so this made perfect sense.

In a cab on the way home from the train station. Little boy was so wiped!

Laura and Jeff's Wedding

This past weekend we flew to Michigan for Andrew's cousin Laura's wedding. It was such a nice affair! Connor looked ultra handsome in his tie and was on his best behavior at the wedding. Laura was a gorgeous bride and we are so happy for her and Jeff! Some pics:

The Eichs before they left for the wedding.

Watching Laura make her entrance!

Tie? Check. Argyle socks? Check. Puppy? Check. Iphone with cartoons for backup? Check.

Clapping for the newlyweds as they were announced into the reception.

Connor loves to Cheers!

A huge fan of the wedding cake!

Post-wedding, reading his favorite book (thanks Melanie!) This one always travels with us wherever we go!

But not for long because someone was so beat!

Many more pics from the visit with Connor's Nana and Grandad to come.
