All About (Soon To Be) 1 Year old Logan!

I haven't given a good Logan update in awhile so a few days shy of his 1st birthday, here goes!

Weight: I have his official one year visit in a couple weeks but his weight as of a week or two ago was 23 lbs. Big boy!

Food: He seriously eats the house. With the exception of tomatoes which he will give or take depending on the day, he has never turned a food away. I make the same size dinner portions for Connor, Leyla and Logan and then Logan ends up eating whatever Leyla leaves behind as well. Favorites include turkey, chicken, blueberries, bread, eggs (no allergy, woohoo!!), pasta, carrots, bananas and avocado.

Teeth: 3.5 on top and 1.5 on bottom.

Nickname: Even though we searched the world over for a name that couldn't be shortened, we (and so our friends now too) call him "Logi." Hopefully it's just a baby nickname. But it's stuck for now ;)

Words: Dada, All done, I want that (said Ahdotdat) and dog (he loves dogs!) Mama occasionally, and several others indiscriminately- uh oh, baba, that (dat) etc. He'll repeat most sounds when prompted.

"Tricks" waving bye bye, giving hugs and kisses (he's very, very sweet), handing everything to me, patty cake, peekaboo, "stinky feet" (generates the most big belly laughs), shaking head yes and no, dancing, and our favorite- we'll say "Logan show us your big grin!" and he instantly gives the biggest, cheesiest grin ever. It's so cute and funny and the kids really love getting him to do this too. He's an extremely steady walker. He's traded walking around with his hands in the air (for balance), and can now be seen walking around with his hands clasped behind his back like he's out for a Sunday stroll. He's good at following directions and definitely understands "no" (and shockingly actually listens most of the time!)

Mama's Boy or Daddy's Boy: Daddy's Boy. But I'm not offended, it's only fair that Andrew gets one out of three :)

Logan's favorite things: Connor and Leyla (his world, Connor in particular), his Lovie, his thumb (ugh), pushing around toy cars, dogs, swinging, the slide, being outside (he makes a serious run for the door anytime it's opened), bath time, the pool, knocking anything down, eating, his bottle, Rusty the giant bear (which he loves to hug), stroller walks, climbing stairs, and pre bedtime story time/cuddles.

My Favorite Things: Logan's sweet, easy going demeanor (my friends call him Zen Baby), his hugs and kisses, his big blue eyes and great smile, his chunky thighs, that he's a champion sleeper and napper, and how much the three kids adore each other!

Leyla and Emily

Had to have a separate post of pics of Leyla and her BFF Emily. They are about as close as friends can be and love each other so much! Ironically, I had a similar post about Connor and his friendship with Michael (they are still BFF's) when Connor was in preschool and Emily happens to be Michael's little sister. They didn't meet through double play dates or anything though, they really became friends in the classroom this year. We have loads of double play dates now of course, and we really love their parents too. Their Dad John helped Andrew coach Connor and Michael's baseball team this year.

Father's Day Weekend

We had reservations on Sunday at one of our favorite restaurants but it was such a gorgeous day Andrew requested a picnic at Waveny Park instead. So picnic we did.

My kids seriously have the best, most fun Dad ever, we are all so so lucky!

Last Day of Kindergarten!

I've taken a nice little break from the blogging world :)

Today is Connor's last day of kindergarten, where has the year gone?! What a great year he's had, and what an incredible boy he's grown to be. He makes me so, so proud.

 Next up, 1st grade, wow!!

Yesterday afternoon he took his test for his tae kwon do green belt and passed! We're taking a break from tae kwon do for the summer (much to Connor's dismay) but we'll start right back up again in September. He loves this so much and is really, really good if I do say so myself ;) I didn't get any pictures because Logan was being particularly squirmy but a friend sent me this video:

Logan's 1st 10 Months!

I've always used a site called One True Media to make the kids' 1st Year videos (something Connor and Leyla both enjoy watching over and over and over again- I love them too!) I started Logan's a couple months ago and have been adding to it little by little. This time around I figured out how to incorporate a few video clips too. Unfortunately I got an email a couple weeks ago that the site is closing down and any videos needed to be ordered by May 15th (just made the deadline!) So, Logan's 1st year video has now been reduced to his 1st 10 months! Poor 3rd child :)

Mother's Day weekend

I had an absolutely wonderful Mother's Day weekend!
"Mommy and Me" event at Leyla's school Friday morning.

Here she is snuggling with Andrew Friday night. She's pretty obsessed with my closet lately. Here she is wearing her current fave, a sequin tank top (a dress to her) I used to wear back in the day ;)

Quick stop at New Canaan's annual May Fair on Saturday. It was really hot and really crowded so we didn't stay long- but long enough to ride several rides and have lunch and cotton candy.

 We got Connor's baseball pictures on Saturday. So grown up!

Sunday morning I got to sleep in, which was wonderful being that we were at a friend's house until well after midnight Saturday night. These adorable faces brought me breakfast in bed (they were so so excited about Mother's Day- so sweet!) Connor also gave me all the wonderful gifts and pictures he's been making for me at school lately, I was blown away!

In keeping with my love of lists Andrew made me my Mother's Day list (which made for a seriously perfect day- so many of my favorite things!)
