Connor's new tricks

Connor has been doing so many new things lately- I couldn't wait for his 10 month update! It's like there's been a learning explosion or something. He literally, does something new every day! He's just so much fun to play with. Here's a few of the new things he's been up to lately:

He likes to make Indian noises, by patting his hand over his mouth while he hums. It's super funny.

He'll pass toys back and forth to me. He won't pass food back and forth to me though. If its on his high chair than its HIS and he's extremely serious about this.

He loves to crawl through our end table. He thinks its his personal obstacle course.

We can (sort of) roll a ball back and forth to each other. He tackles it if I roll it to him but his "passing back" skills are seriously lacking. You can tell he's trying though!

He continues to love to push that walking toy all over the place. We were making a regular occurrence of pushing it up and down the hallways of our building (what us city people without yards have to resort to sometimes) but Connor started stopping to knock on each door we passed so we're taking a break from the hallway.

He's learning "No." Unfortunately one of his favorite "games" is to pull the screen off of his Dad's speakers and try to poke at the cones. A huge no no! He knows that if Andrew isn't paying enough attention to him, and he goes for one of the speakers, he'll get an instant reaction. We think he's finally grasped that the speakers are off limits. Sometimes when he knows I'm watching him he'll reach a hand out to them really slowly while smiling at me, just to test me to see if I'll say No again. Little Devil.

He continues to love to clap and give high fives. Just beginning to wave.

He loves to play peekaboo. He will actually initiate games by crawling behind the curtain and covering and uncovering his face. He has so much fun doing this and this game can go on and on for quite a while. He even taught his baby friend Kate Jensen how to play and now they play it together! It's the cutest thing. Here he is playing behind the curtain.

Not a new trick but he continues to love his puppy. Had to share the cute pic.

This one makes me just about the happiest person in the world- he gives kisses on demand! He'll lean in and plant a wet one right on my cheek.

And my all time favorite... he dances! The boy's got some serious rhythm (he obviously does not get this from me). Whenever we turn on some music he starts bouncing up and down like crazy. Unfortunately, he's very serious about this new trick, so he gets the most serious expression on his face when he dances, like he's concentrating really, really hard on his new moves. Hopefully soon he'll realize that dancing is supposed to be FUN! I'll have to find a way to get some video of this, cause it is just too funny.

Just some random pics of the super smiley boy. Such a ham!

It's a Boy!

EXCITING news out of Chicago! Andrew's sister Kelly had her baby on Sunday! Alessio Maximo Negrillo was born at 6:30am on Sunday, October 5th, just two days shy of their 2nd wedding anniversary. What a gift! Alessio is 7lbs, 3 oz and apparently has a head full of dark hair. Mom and baby are both doing wonderfully, we got to speak to Kelly over the phone this morning. It goes without saying that we CANNOT wait to meet him! Massi just sent me the following picture that he took from his blackberry. Is he a perfect little guy or what?!

Kelly and Massi are going to be outstanding parents. Connor is one of many of their Godchildren! We're super excited that Connor has another cousin to pal around with- and a boy nontheless! The Eich family has been very blessed- this is the 4th grandchild in a little over 2.5 years! Here's Kelly and Massi, pictures taken at Kelly's baby shower and Connor's baptism, both this past August.

Congrats Kelly and Massi, we love you guys so much and are so happy for you!

Weekend Recap

We had a busy weekend! Lots of pictures to share.

Here's Connor having an animated conversation with the wall on Saturday morning. Guess "Time Out" isn't going to work for him.

Melanie was nice enough to let us borrow this walking toy of Carter's - and Connor absolutely loves it. We go up and down the hallways of our building and Connor seems so proud of himself as he pushes it along. I think it makes him feel really independent. I bet its only a matter of time now before we're going to have a walker on our hands!

Saturday night we had dinner at the home of Hayashi-san, one of Andrew's co-workers. We had so much fun- they were such gracious hosts. They also have a 10 month old son named Kenta who is absolutely adorable. Of course Connor loves to meet new friends! Thank you to the Hayashi family for such a wonderful evening- we really had a great time!

Here's Connor dressed and ready to go to dinner. I had a little fun and dressed him just like Andrew, ha! As my Mom would say, Mr. Casual:

Sunday morning we hung in and watched football. Of course we dressed Connor for the occasion:

Then I indulged in some much deserved/anticipated/appreciated "me time" (trip to the gym and a haircut) while Andrew (aka Awesome Dad) took Connor for his first bike ride (around the Imperial Palace no less!) with some of our friends. I adore these pictures- how cute are the boys in their helmets?!

Later, Andrew and Connor debated what to make for dinner.

Fine Connor, you pick.

And finally- the messy boy at dinnertime!

Sadly the weekend ended on a bit of a low note. Both Andrew and Connor woke up on Monday morning with nasty colds. Andrew even stayed home from work yesterday so you know it was bad! Looks like they're both feeling better today though.

9 Months Old!

My little boy is not so little anymore! Can you believe its been 9 months already? I received some nice feedback on my 8 month post so I'm going to do a similar update for his 9 month! Here's 9 things you may or may not know about Connor Eich!

1. He sleeps on his tummy with his butt sticking straight up in the air and his arms and legs tucked underneath. It's pretty darn cute!
2. He (finally) cut his first tooth! His lower right tooth popped through early last week. Looks like his lower left and one of his top teeth are only a matter of days from popping through as well. I wish I could say that he took it in stride but he did not. He was SUPER cranky for several days, took pretty crappy naps and even woke in the night a couple of nights in a row. I am NOT a fan of the whole teething thing.
3. He still doesn't seem all that interested in walking on his own but loves to "cruise" along the furniture. He'll take steps if we're holding his hands but once we let go he sits right down. He's an unbelievably fast crawler and I think he's ok with that for the time being!
4. He's extremely social. It's one of things that makes me the most proud. I'd like to say its because of me but I think its just his personality!
5. He reaches for EVERYTHING. If its out of his reach and he wants it, he whines. This is really annoying (the whining part). Look at those tippy toes!

6. He has, what has to be, the cutest little butt. It's chubby and round and I love to pinch it.
7. He loves the sound of his own voice and is basically always making some sort of noise. You'll always be able to locate us in a store.
8. He wears "big boy" jammies now.

9. He's been known to lose Cheerios in his neck rolls.

I've said it before, but Connor is just such a joy to be around (when he's not teething). He's a really sweet, super fun little boy and we love him so much!

Picnic in the park

I know I've posted about a million pictures of Connor at the park but we go there a lot and I seem to always have my camera out when we go. Today Connor and his buddies had a picnic. The babies were super cute as always!

This is Connor's "man on a mission" face.

Of course I'm biased but is this just about the sweetest face in the world or what?!

Such cute kids!
