2 Months Old!

Today Connor had his 2 month check up- he's 12 pounds and 23 inches now! I can't believe he's already just about doubled his birth weight. He's starting to become a somewhat chunky baby- esp. in his face. Andrew and I have been calling him Mr. Turkey Neck lately- I hope he isn't offended. He'll grow into himself I'm sure. He had a big milestone moment over the weekend- he rolled over! Unfortunately I missed it, but Andrew managed to get it on video. We knew it was only a matter of time- the kid was fighting like hell to do it every time we put him on his stomach- he loathes tummy time. Here's a bunch of recent pictures I've taken lately.

Another playdate

This past Wednesday it was our turn to host what is becoming our regular Wednesday playdates. Unfortunately Connor managed to sleep through almost all of it- what a host! I was so glad that Jackie was here to help me get ready and make lunch for everyone. Not quite sure how I would have pulled it off without her! As usual, the babies mostly laid around while the Moms gabbed. I just love my fellow Tokyo new Moms and feel so lucky to have met them!

Gotta love the group shots.

Peace out Carter!

Aunt Jackie comes to visit!

So we had a GREAT time during Jackie's visit- it went by too fast. We did a lot of hanging around the house which was really fun- and a great break for me! Jackie just loved hanging with Connor- and as usual I welcomed the extra set of hands. She was wonderful with Connor- read him lots of books, sang him lots of songs and helped him put in some real efforts at Tummy Time. I tried to work in as much touring around as possible- no easy feat with Connor. But I did my best- and aimed for one tourist type thing per day. Here's some pictures of Jackie with Connor during her stay. I've also included one of Jackie in all her glory at the Apple Store here (she's a real Apple fanatic) and a great shot I took in Ginza (the main shopping district) at dusk. Thank you Jackie for coming all the way out here to visit us!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

So I'm a few days late, but wanted to wish all my friends and family back home a very Happy Valentine's Day! I miss you all so much and can't wait for you to meet Connor! I had a great V-day over here. First, my friend Annemarie invited Connor and I over to her house for lunch. She's a chef here at the Ritz Carlton, so man can she cook! Melanie and her son Carter were there too, it was really fun. Lunch pooped Connor out and he managed to nap on and off for most of the afternoon and evening before going to bed, giving me plenty of time to make a nice V-day dinner for Andrew and for us to actually eat slowly, and using both hands too. It's the little things these days...

Here's was Connor's message to Andrew on V-day.

Another Playdate...

Connor went over to his friend Carter's this past week for another playdate. We don't know if the babies are aware of each other yet or not but we pretend that they are. Here's Connor with Carter and his other baby friend Brendan.

Carter noticing how soft Connor's skin is!

Not so fast buddy...

All of the boys!

I just love this one of Carter lounging in his new Bumbo chair, such a cool guy!

Nagano 2008

This past weekend we ventured up to Nagano (about a 2 hour bullet train ride outside of Tokyo) with our friends Trish and Seph and their baby Kate. It snowed practically the whole time we were there and from the inside of our little lodge in the mountains you forgot you were in Japan! We had a fun and relaxing time. The boys skied during the day while Trish and I held down the fort with the babies. At night we cooked, drank, watched movies, and played a tough game of trivial pursuit. Below is our lodge.

Connor all dressed up for his first ride on a bullet train. Doesn't he look excited?

Connor just hanging out at the lodge.

My favorite picture from the weekend: Connor lounging in front of the fire- what an exhausting 7 weeks its been! Good thing its vacation time!

Connor and I on the train home.

After a long weekend, the kids are pooped!

Connor's Playdate

Last week Connor was invited to a "playdate" at my friend Christine's/his friend Brendan's house. I figured the babies would just lay around at these things while the Mom's chatted but Connor really played! He just loves Brendan's playmat, not to mention he was excited to see his baby friends again.

Here's Connor ready to go in his carseat. He looks like he's thinking "Come on Mom, lets GO already! The rest of the gang is probably already there!" (which they were by the way, I'm still mastering getting places on time with a baby).

Above, Connor and his friends Brendan, Carter and Hope. Below, Connor having fun on Brendan's playmat.
